Transport
Express has implemented an enterprise wide logistics
software package designed to manage its diverse
operations and improve customer service throughout
the organization.
The
system is based on client/server architecture with a
windows-based graphical user interface.
The system is also web-enabled, providing
Transport Express’ customers with access to
information in real-time throughout the logistics
chain
Customers can
now access their information by various means
including direct fax, direct email, EDI, XML, and
the Internet. The
centrally deployed database allows for customized
reporting based on customer demands.
Improving communication will ensure quicker
cycle times enabling customers to make faster, more
informed decisions.
§
Direct email or fax: System generated email or
fax notifications to
customers
§
EDI or XML: Direct system-to-system
connectivity
§
Internet: Remote user based access to
the Transport Express system
Transport Express customers are able to track the status of their freight using several key points of information.
Status can be obtained regarding:
- Delivery Order Receipt and Entry
- Cargo availability:
- (US Customs cleared, Ocean Bill of Lading (OBL) and Freight charges surrendered, container discharged from vessel, and last free day on Port)
- Delivery status
- Freight Location - (See TELETRAC below)
- Empty or Load return
- Billing
Transport
Express provides its customers with complete order,
inventory, and shipment Visibility within the
logistics chain.
High-level visibility enables customers to
confidently outsource their import/export logistics
needs.
The system also
provides Supply Chain Event Management
capabilities, which enables customers to manage
their supply chain in real-time.
Customer defined milestones are set within
the system. Once the milestones (or events) are
triggered, an automatic alert (email) is sent to the
customer. An
example of this functionality would be an automatic
alert being sent to a customer when deliveries
are completed, or when orders are shipped.
Our new T1 High Speed data stream connection allows for near instant access to developing web-based technology. Customer web based access to account information is currently under
development and will be available shortly. Future phases of the web based program will allow for instant and secure transaction updates by the drivers allowing for the most accurate level of real time reporting.
TELETRAC:
Transport Express utilizes a state-of-the-art Cargo Security System and Communication Network. The Teletrac system provides real-time equipment location within (3) seconds and with accuracy of 100 feet or less. The Teletrac system can track a driver inside the harbor area, or on the freeway regardless of whether the equipment is moving or parked. Tracking is available throughout the following counties:
- Los Angeles
- San Bernardino
- Orange
- Riverside
- Ventura
- San Diego
The Teletrac system assists Transport Express in maximizing the utilization of our Transportation Resources and enhances the accuracy of our customer service information. The Teletrac system also includes a silent panic alert feature should the driver encounter a hijacking emergency. The Teletrac Control Center is monitored 24-hours a day. Transport Express welcomes you to visit our terminal for a live demonstration of Teletrac.
WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM:
The final phase of the new WMS is being implemented which
will allow customers to have web based real time reporting of their current warehouse inventory. Each customer will have a secure password to view the files that pertain to them. When completed, CFS, Public and Bonded freight inventories will be available 24 / 7 / 365. This will allow our customers to view the necessary data whenever it is needed and develop detailed reports pertaining to their cargo specifications. Of course the option to call our staff will still be available to those without web access.
